CNA Financial has selected Michael Kirchgessner as the vice president of Umbrella for commercial underwriting, in a bid to expand its underwriting capabilities.

CNA Commercial chief underwriting officer John Beckman said the company is excited to have someone of Michael's caliber lead the umbrella team.

"He has a strong background in umbrella and excess underwriting as well as significant experience in the Professional, Financial Services, Construction, and Real Estate customer segments," Beckman added.

Kirchgessner has 20 years of underwriting expertise, and was working as vice president, regional underwriting manager for ACE Risk Management.
